Most middle aged people worry about their health. .They are afraid of old age. They don’t want
to be old, sick and alone. They would like to be strong, fat and young again, but they think they
are ‘over the hill’ to old.


“Geriatrician’ are the doctors who are studying how people grow old.They are learning how
people might be healthy at any age. First, it is important to exercise. For example swim, walk
play tennis, dance or play a team sport such as volleyball. Exercise is for everyone, not only for
young people.


Secondly, people need to exercise their minds to think. It is important at every age to study,
read and talk to people. Thirdly people need to eat a lot of vegetables and fruits and much
meat sugar. Fourth, everyone needs to relax. People might try meditation. A 1989 study tells us
something interesting. If older people meditate, they remember more and live longer.
